CZ. I – THEORETICAL BASIS
In recent years, ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) has attracted growing interest, as it
is an effective method for the rapid extraction of a number of compounds from differ-
ent sample, with extraction efficiency comparable to classical techniques. The first part
gives a brief presentation of theory of UAE. Second part will present applications of UAE
techniques in the process of sample preparation. Ultrasound-assisted extraction tech-
niques (UAE) discussed in this paper allows to determinate a wide range of analytes that
are characterized by a complex composition of the matrix. UAE technique offers a great
reduction on time and energy and solvent consumption, as well as the opportunity to
perform multiple extractions. It appears that use of UAE in analytical laboratories should
increase in the next years, especially due to reasonable low cost of the equipment and
being consider as a green analytical chemistry technique.
