Formaldehyde as an important polemiki, problemy
air pollutant
– RISKS AND EMISSIONS SOURCES OF FORMALDEHYDE TO INDOOR AND OUTDOOR AIR
Formaldehyde is an important chemical compound because of its wide application. It is used in many industries,
but on a large scale, it is used for production of formaldehyde resins. The prevalence of formaldehyde in the
environment makes it an important pollutant for both indoor and outdoor air. The paper discusses the physico-
chemical properties of formaldehyde and irritating and carcinogenic effects of this compound on humans. It also
describes emission sources of formaldehyde to the air and allowable concentration of this compound in the air.
